The 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America is here !

Join in the celebration, on Monday, February 8, 2010 (our official 100th birthday), as we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey and begin our next century of Scouting!

Here’s how you can participate

#1. Wear your uniform proudly all day on Monday, February 8th – join Scouts and Scouters across America on Monday at work, school, and around their communities in uniform.

#2. Join us on Monday, February 8, at 7:00PM at Roswell City Hall, Roswell City Council Meeting, for a proclamation presentation by Mayor Jere Wood (also an Eagle Scout) to the Chattahoochee District and a presentation of 4 Centennial Oak Trees to the City of Roswell to be planted at City Hall and Roswell Area Park. (NOTE: All Youth, Parents, Family, and Scouters are encouraged to attend in uniform – we need Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers). The presentation should last about 10-minutes for those with Monday night meetings we encourage you to stop by City Hall for this once in a lifetime event (stay if you like and complete a Cit in the Community MB requirement). Sorry - we can plan around a lot of things except City Council meetings!

#3. Encourage your charter organization, place of work, school, local businesses to display a message on their marquees next week: HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

#4. Watch and share the 100th Anniversary Video message at: http://scouting.org/100years/100years/

#5. Text the word "Scout" to BSA100 (272100) to learn the latest from the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America about the BSA's 100th Anniversary Celebration.

#6. Join your fellow Scouters at the annual Chatthoochee District Banquet on Thursday, Feb 11, 7:00PM at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church on Mt Vernon Hwy. REGISTER NOW at www.CDBSA.org or directly at this link: http://cdbanquet.asktwice.com/register/ You do not want to miss this local celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting and the fellowship with all the great Scouters in our Quality District

Wear Your Uniform Day - February 8th

Monday February 8th, is the official 100th Birthday of Scouting in the US !

Encourage all your Scouts and Unit Leaders to wear their Scout uniform to school and work this coming Monday February 8th.

City Of Roswell Proclamation Recognizing the BSA 100th Anniversary

Monday Evening - February 8th @7:00PM

Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street, Roswell, GA 30075

On Monday February 8th, the City of Roswell will be formally recognizing

the BSA 100th Anniversary with a proclamation from Mayor Jere Wood and the City Council at their council meeting. We need Scouts and Leaders to attend this meeting in support of the 100th Anniversary.

Please arrive early by 6:45PM prior to council meeting start.
